You may already know that for my GCSE IT course I am doing we have bought a Mac Pro. We have been planning to buy this Mac for some time and it has finally arrived. This is a super machine and probably the fastest in our school; faster than the any of our servers. I hope to have the unboxing video up soon! I thought I would give you the specs and an initial review.
The specs are as follows…
- Two 3.0GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors (8-core)
- It came with 1Gb upgraded to 5GB
- Apple 23″ Display
- 2x 750GB 7200rpm Barracuda Drives
- NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT with 256MB of GDDR2 SDRAM
- Finalcut Express HD
As you can see I have good reason to be dribbling at the moment by just looking at the specs. When surfing the web it only uses 2% of the overall processor power.
The machine by its self is a beast and well worth the money now with the extra ram and hard drive it is a beauty and the is no chance that it us not the most powerful computer I have played on except for the Mac Pro’s in the Apple store (which are sick). This machine has the power to do almost anything and I can’t wait to start to edit the opening video. The Apple Cinema display is great and a really treat, I had to put my eye up to the display to see one of the pixels they are so small while on my laptop I can sit 30cm away and see them. The mighty mouse is not as bad as I thought. The old Apple keyboard is not as good as the new one. This is my dream machine it’s fast, packed with ram and sexy.
