The biggest question flying around about Apple today is wether they are going to allow 3rd Party app’s on the iPhone and early last week rumours were say Apple was going to do it. Later in the week Apple put up a webapps directory on their site which was a huge blow to many of the people asking for 3rd party app’s as it felt like they were making their stand. The Web app’s directory is just a consolidation of most of the web based iPhone app’s out there such as Facebook, Google calendar and bejeweled. In my opinion it would do Apple good to do some kind of 3rd Party app’s. If they have to lock it down and make us pay for them by iTunes and then take a cut at least it would stop people from complaining so we could all get on with our lives. Apple’s web app’s aren’t bad just they don’t run on the iPhone so we have to have Internet and what about editing word docs and stuff that all we want. The problem is if they opened up the platform it could destroy the phone and they would have to deal with people coming in saying I installed a program and it ruined my iPhone.
