The grand Time Machine, Apples answer to backup. Time Machine is as easy as they say it is, but it can be a bit restricting in some places by not allowing you to choose how often you want to backup and backing up over to an airport drive. Hello people what is wrong with the star field I love it it is not complex it is simple, would you rather have a dialogue box with dates and file size, hell NO. To be honest I have used Time Machine once and it was easy and simple my only annoyance is that if you eject your drive and then plug it in you have to start the auto backups by clicking backup now on the dock icon I don’t know if that is a bug but it really gets my toes! yes my toes! Time Machine beats any other backup software I have used and defiantly beats the built in backup of windows. To be honest this is the first time I have actually backed up (ever). If you have a mac with tiger get leopard and a spare hard drive and if have leopard just get the drive you will not regret it. In my books Time Machine gets a 5/5 mainly because if it was not for time machine I would not have started to back up and I think that this is true for many people even though windows has had built-in backup no one uses it! why? because it must suck.

Time Machine is the by far the easiest to use backup software I’ve ever used. Previously to recover stuff I’ve had to search around in zip files or what have you. And then you’ve got the fuss of deciding what you should backup and what you don’t need to. TimeMachine does all that for you. Though, yes it would be good to turn off its hourly backups overnight.
Thanks for information.
