As all us Mac fans know on the 15th was the Macworld Keynote with the holy master of all things Apple Steve Jobs. Last year Macworld coincided with CES but a change in dates from the CES camp stopped them from clashing this year. I would have loved to go Macworld but sadly I can’t go till 2012 unless they change the dates because I will be in school and won’t be able to get off, that really sucks!! Going to Macworld for me would be a dream but it shall have to wait till 2012 so see you then.
This year there was a lot of hype of what was to be announced with rumours everywhere. On the rumour front I actually want Apple to tighten up a bit we have had so many rumours come true recently, Steve get your employes in line, I mean I do like rumours but only when they are vague and don’t tell you exactly what it is going to look like to the exact shape, come on who did not know what the MacBook Air was going to look like. So back on topic I thought I would make a list of the Announcements and my initial thoughts on them.
Time Capsule
This is a good product but a bit on the pricey side for a wireless backup option. I think you would only find this useful if you come home every day with your MB, MBP and MBA and that way you won’t have to worry about plugging in the drive to backup it will do it for you. If you have a desktop it would be quicker to just plug in a drive and you aren’t moving if you have a desktop so why wireless what is wrong with a drive.

iPhone Update
We have all seen it before on the leaked version, see what I mean leaked!! So, this is a good update but not revolutionary. With some fixes and the Maps capability making it better for navigating.
iPod Touch
Nice to get all the apps on the iPhone but come on $20 or £12 why charge, this is not fair we are getting ripped off come on. I did by it mainly for the email and hope to put a video of me using the stuff soon so watch out.
SDK
Out late Fed but we all knew that. So nothing new here what a shame I was expecting a demo of a native Facebook app or something of that ilk.
iTunes Movie Rentals
LEAKED!! come on again this I think is a great move and the ability to do it on the Apple TV makes it well worth getting one. This also is good when you miss a movie in the cinema you don’t have to buy the expensive DVD, this will be great download and watch all the films you kissed, finally I might start to watch films again.
Apple TV 2.0
Yippy it did not die but it came back stronger than ever and now you can rent movies on it, that alone is a reason to get one. slightly new UI and surround sound basically all the original complaints have being fixed. This is so good all round update, I want one now and it is a free upgrade for all Apple TV owners.

MacBook Air “Something is in the Air I just can’t put my finger on it, that must be because it is to thin I keep missing”
Do I need to say it, I don’t think so I won’t. This laptop is designed for a person who has a desktop but often goes away for 2-7 days at a time and need to have email web and a bit more. This is a “Thinovation” as Apple have branded it. The Apple rendered images do not do it justice at all it is a lot thinner is what I am hearing. I like this laptop but it is just not for me with my current lifestyle. The lack of ports is a bit of a downside but why are people complaining about no optical drive the only thing I have installed on my Laptop that required a optical drive was Leopard and now there is no need for DVD’s because you can rent a movie through iTunes.
Conclusion
The Keynote was great and I can’t wait till next time steve takes the stage but for now lets revel in what we just received from our god (Apple). I will hopefully be putting up a couple of posts on new products after I get to know them better.
