For my GCSE I am taking Graphic Design, and since I was young the look and feel of things have have fascinated me. When I was young I loved to create things, the web combines both of my passions with in web design. Very recently I have got more and more into coding CSS and HTML, and started to learn a bit of PHP. The fun bit of all this is putting it into practice and designing websites. Before you do that it is alway good to learn from people that do this for a living, there are a ton of designer’s with blogs out there but here are a few of my favorites.
The first blog is called BlogOH!Blog it is a blog done by a a web developer who lives in New Delhi. He offers a bunch of cool free wordpress themes and some really insightful articles.
The second blog is more of a CSS based site this is shown in the name CSS-Tricks. CSS-Tricks is a blog that discuses more actual web development rather than design, they also have some great tutorials in their podcast.
David Airey is a self-employed graphic designer, he runs a fantastic blog and talks about some really interesting subjects such as what makes a good logo and Typography. I would really recommend reading his blog
Jeremy Adams is new to the blogging world he stared in January and is transitioning from being a computer programer to a designer. He writes about a beginners perspective on how to be a web designer, one of his best articles is What I hate about being a designer.
These are some really good blogs and I recommend you check them out. This will be my only post for the next weeks as I am currently away in Orlando. This has to be the worst week to go on holiday with no internet as I will miss Doctor Who finale and iPhone 3G launch!

Hi Rupert,
Thanks very much for mentioning me, and I hope you do great in your graphic design GCSE. When I was studying at your age, there wasn’t the option to take graphic design. I’m envious!
